Great shoe for light weight training
I train to stay in shape, so not a power lifter. Once I got used to the bright yellow color, these are my favorite training shoe. They provide an old school, stable platform for your heel and a wide enough toe box for my aging feet’s comfort and still maintain their light weight. They are definitely a step up from cross training shoes and runners. I don’t use them for any other activity, and for some they could be the shoe, that you just put on in the gym and no where else. There is nothing cool grey about them. They are bright yellow, and the citron plasticized areas actually glow under certain light. After I got used to it, and since they feel so good during my work out, it is definitely not a problem. I did switch out the laces to some speed laces, which allow my more lacing control. All in all, as long as they remain available, I’ll seek them out.Sizing is always a problem, but I bought a size 7 and it fit they way I expected, and as I wanted.

Metcon 5’s are my absolute favorite! These are my “inside” shoes. Love how lightweight and comfortable they are! Color is awesome!

Extremely stable shoe for the gym
This is my second pair of Free Metcon 5. I bought my first pair and was instantly in love so when I realized this was an older style, I tried the latest iteration but didn’t like the “improvements.” So of course I panicked and needed to get some more of the 5 while I can!I had been wearing my running shoes to the gym for my weight training class and found them entirely too wobbly. my foot kept wanting to roll out. I was looking for a cross trainer but since 1) I’m a woman and 2) I have wide feet there were few to choose from. I came across the free Metcon 5 and was happily surprised when they fit my wide feet! Then I felt how extremely stable they made my feet feel supporting on both inside and outside and was thrilled. I’ve had them a couple of months now and still feel great when I put them on.And bonus, they come in fun colors 😀
