Effective with less torture
Just the right density to “dig in” and relieve muscle spasms without breaking into a sweat as I try to endure the pain. If you have done a lot of foam rolling, you probably want a denser roller, but this works for me. This is a high-quality roller, very well constructed. I thought it was overpriced when I decided to order it (because it’s the only soft roller I could find in this size), but this is going to last for years.

Kinda hard
Maybe I missed something in the description or am sensitive to foam rolling but this thing is pretty hard. I also wish I had gotten a longer one for rolling my lower body.Otherwise quality was great.

Softest foam roller I own
This is my first soft foam roller, and I happen to own the firm roller from the same brand. Funnily enough I bought the firm roller from Oceanfoam because the very first roller I purchased was basically a big pvc pipe with a layer of foam wrapped around it, and it feels like a torture device. I wanted something that was firm but with a little more give, and that is why I bought a new one.The Oceanfoam rollers are a firm piece of foam wrapped in an outer layer of a different foam. Their “firm” roller is softer than my first torture device, but still quite firm. Both of the Oceanfoam rollers seem to have the same core, and the difference between them comes down to the outer layer. The soft roller has a softer and squishier outer layer than the firm one does. I tried to show this in my video by pinching the edges of both rollers, and you can clearly see the black and white marbled roller squishes more.Why get the soft roller? Firstly, I have painful spots on my body that don’t tolerate the firm roller, no matter how much I like it for my back. Secondly, no one else in the family will go near the firm rollers I own so it seemed prudent to get something they can actually use. The soft roller really does have more give and does not feel like it pushes into trigger points as much. Great for painful areas that need a more gentle approach. So far I am finding more pain relief for my legs with the soft foam roller, but it isn’t quite as effective for my back.The roller is just the right size in my opinion. It’s long enough for any of the exercises, stretches, and resting positions I need it for, but not so long it’s hard to find a place to store it when not in use. I really like the textured foam (some people will not) because it makes the roller easier to use by providing a little grip so it doesn’t slide away. And not that it particularly matters, but the wave texture and the marbled pattern look pretty cool.

Not as soft as the description makes it sound
Nice but not quite the same if you’re looking for a truly soft foam roller like the ones used in a physical therapy clinic. I’ll keep and use this one but I kinda wish I would have ordered a different one that was more like the one in the clinic instead of this one. The description had the feel goods for the eco-friendly stuff and I thought it would be a good fit but it’s going to take some adjustment.
