Item received was as described. OK, we didn't buy it for exercising purposes. Our cats don't like eating food from their bowels on the cold ceramic tile. So this was the perfect solution. The quarter inch thickness is enough to provide a comfortable separation from the cold floor. It was easy to trim to size and can be picked up for cleaning. Would have thought?
